We're the Only Ones Resourceful Enough

An altercation between a South Carolina high school student and a school resource officer ended tragically Friday with the student dead of a gunshot wound and the officer hospitalized after being stabbed. [More]
Assuming it was a righteous DGU, it still leaves the question of how anyone else on school grounds not an "Only One" would have been able to defend themselves against a knife attack--seeing as how the most effective "resource" is legally denied them.

One thing we can be sure of: this will be tallied as "another child gun death."

We're the Only Ones Posing Enough

The Chicago Police Department is investigating several of its officers accused of forcing a college student they arrested during last month's G-20 summit in Pittsburgh to pose for a group photo with them. [More]
And while any number of sites can link you to the video, only WarOnGuns brings you this exclusive still photo of these "Only Ones" posing with their trophies:

The punch line?
"The Chicago Police Department does not tolerate misconduct by any of its members, regardless of where it might occur."
Comedy gold!

He warned the state that under the Code of Federal Rules enforced by the U.S. Justice Department, these actions could result in a $10,000 fine for each violation and the state could potentially lose access to the use NICS system. [More]
I say demand it. For each and every time one of these professional law enforcers has committed a violation.

We're Los Angeles Times editors. We don't know the meaning of the phrase "shall not be infringed."

Or maybe they really do, and they're just subversive agenda-driven liars...?

Stop!

And while Mike H does talk about...uh...a collectivist compulsion, I don't think his command is issued "in the name of love." [More]

When we first met Darren Yancy, he was running for the 17th Texas Congressional District seat where he distinguished himself from his rivals by actually providing specific answers to the gun rights questionnaire. Still, some readers indicated dissatisfaction with two of his answers, specifically in regards to open carry and registration. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column does two things: It changes my mind from being neutral on this individual to believing he is a good candidate. But also, importantly, it shows how some candidates are recognizing the importance of making sure they clearly state their case for the right to keep and bear arms.

Have you sent any candidates the questionnaire, asked them for unequivocal responses and let them know you were going to share the results?

And will you tell a friend?

This Day in History: October 17

October 17, 1777 - Gen. Burgoyne and his entire army of 5700 men surrender to the Americans led by Gen. Gates. The British are then marched to Boston, placed on ships and sent back to England after swearing not serve again in the war against America. News of the American victory at Saratoga soon travels to Europe and boosts support of the American cause. In Paris the victory is celebrated as if it had been a French victory. Ben Franklin is received by the French Royal Court. France then recognizes the independence of America. [More]
