We're the Only Ones Re-Upping Enough

To repeat: a drunk cop doing 143 MPH in a 55 is demanding his job back. And the police union is helping him get his job back. [More]
Well, yeah, it would be a shame to lose all that experience he obviously has mastered.

Job Title Has Nothing to Do with It

The question I'd be asking is who has the legitimate authority to infringe on any free person's choice. [More]

I mean someone we can actually see, because the One we can't leaves our choices up to us.

A senior at one Connecticut high school has asked administrators to explain why he can access websites like Islam-guide.com, the State Democrat site and Planned Parenthood on the school’s computers — but not sites for the NRA, the State GOP or Christianity.com. [More]
Oh, well, it's strictly an efficiency move.  It saves us from having to sic Jinging and Chacha on you.

We're the Only Ones Not Infringing Enough

"This is not about infringing on anyone's second amendment rights,” Baltimore Police Sgt. Jarron Jackson said. “It is not about taking a gun away from a person.  It is about making sure our citizens are safe and removing a potential threat that could cause someone to be a victim.” [More]
Or as Kirk said to Krako:

Count Chocula Must Die!

We talked about cultural offenses the other day.

Here's the thing, and I've been meaning to say something about this for some time, but it's just so intimidating going up against powerful special interests and popular sentiment...

Many of you may not know my heritage is Romanian, and more specifically, pure-blooded Transylvanian.  I can't tell you the number of times I've disclosed that to people only to have them respond with bad Bela Lugosi (a Hunky, for goodness sake!) impersonations and remarks about vampires.

I am so sick and tired of being disparaged as a people with such negative stereotyping. It's demeaning. It makes me feel bad.

And then to see an evil corporation taking the stereotype to the next level and turning it into a cartoon... Meanwhile, my poor kids have it twice as bad, being half Irish (Thanks "Lucky." And what the hell is this?  "Fighting Irish"? No wonder those people drink!)

We're the Only Ones Approaching the Bench Enough

A police officer mistakenly fired his rifle Wednesday morning while in a Miami courthouse in front of a judge. [More]
And he "was there on official training business"!

Naturally, "there’s nothing unlawful or against policy about him having his weapon" and "Police have  not yet released the name of the officer who fired the gun."

About SCrOTUS and Abramski

Several of you have sent me links to various accounts and I held off because I was writing my own for a new client and did not wish to be influenced by the thoughts of others.  Now that my draft has been submitted, here are a few observations by a chosen few I'm ready to read and pass along:
And yeah, I understand it was a 5 -4 decision, so some may object  to the Fauxtoshop. While some worked to actively erode rights, the greater point was missed by all.

UPDATE: The Backwoods Engineer shares his take.
