Judge: Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Committed “Fraud Against the Court”

Among other arguments raised in Dobyns’ objection is Facciola used the wrong standard of review, he refused to consider misconduct allegations and his report contains legal and factual errors. As such, the court is being asked to “entirely reject the Special Master Report for any of the several independent and sufficient reasons set forth herein.” [More]
The fight continues. I've received some interesting private email comments over this one that lead me to believe it is far from over.

Oh, wait, they also killed the dog -- that makes this triple threat a spate.

Extinction Event

I just received the following breathless bit of fundraising hyperbole in an email:

There are no surprises on the survey itself, designed to elicit kneejerk agreement with the obvious, all the while adding to or validating the ILA email list and no doubt bringing in contributions. All the while they ignore an actual huge threat to "legal" recognition of RKBA members who limit their options to those defined by Fairfax will be facing -- because Wayne and Chris don't want to rock any boats and act like it's not part of that "single issue," you see...

Asserting "Your gun rights go extinct!" reinforces a narrative NRA relies on. That makes them the last, best hope to whom all turn. At least those who swallow it.

As for those who don't so limit their options, they're committed  to the proposition that their rights won't be extinct until they are. Such armed Americans will not go gentle into that good night.

They probably don't do online surveys, either.

Now THERE'S a Surprise

Plenty more where that came from. Only a matter of time before the official blood dancing starts...

Finding Common Ground

Hell must have frozen over -- I find myself in complete agreement with a Prozi. [More]

All the News that's Fit to Suppress

In the five days since the shooting, ABC News has chosen not to publish the full contents of the fax, which was variously described in the media as a manifesto or a suicide note. No explanation has been given for withholding the full contents from the public. Given that Flanagan is dead, there would seem to be no reason not to reveal it (i.e., no pending trial and therefore no reason to worry about an ongoing investigation or influencing potential jurors). [More]
What's the matter, ABC News? Is there stuff in there that doesn't fit the narrative?

Your job is not to hold stuff back. Release the entire document.

A Qualified Right

Yeah, we recognize your right to bear arms, but if we feel like it, we're still going to roust you for exercising it. And if we overreact, good luck overcoming the "established department protocol" bulwark... [More]

Oath Keepers News Alerts Point to Another Area of Needed Member Awareness

I knew about these stories because I subscribe to a Google News Alert for the search term “Oath Keepers.” I get daily emails telling me about every story appearing on the Google News feed. I urge you to subscribe as well. [More]
You can do it with any term you're interested in keeping informed on.

When Prozis Collide

A former Goldman Sachs executive and his society wife stole the idea for a charity bracelet from a New York advertising consultant — then partnered with Donna Karan and Michael Bloomberg instead, according to a new lawsuit ... The leather bracelets would be used to promote causes such as ... gun control... [More]
Seeing as how the entire idea of citizen disarmament has been stolen from tyrants past, why would this surprise anyone?

Still, this does suggest another let-the-left-devour-each-other opportunity, as those bracelets are leather, meaning animals were murdered.

Yo, PETA and ALF: You gonna let them get away with this?

Continental Divide Redux

Remember that story from yesterday, about the rift in Colorado between shooters and residents that came to a head after a negligent death?

Well guess what: The Forest Service was planning restrictions all long.

The Rising Chronicles of Conservatism

And we know where those lead us...

As for dissenters?
The provincialism and political cultism of this era withheld support for two runs to the presidency by Mr. Romney.
You provincial cultists, you.

The solution?
Surely President Fiorina should call up Mr. Romney in 2017 to be her first chief of staff, to institutionalize a new political ethic in the rising chronicles of conservatism, possibly even one which could to run the century.
Yeah, because nothing will block that "pathway to citizenship" like supporting the DREAM Act, thus paving the way for a GOP majority through the decades to come...

No?

Mount Jesus

Jeez, have a little privately-funded statue that's been on a leased section of a mountain for 80 years, and the Taliban go into full demonic we-must-destroy-Buddah-statues blood rage. [More]

Funny, they had no problem with Piss Christ winning a competition where one of the sponsors was the National Endowment for the Arts, or with Elephant Dung Mary appearing in the tax-funded Brooklyn Museum.

Meanwhile, their demigod illegally renames the  highest mountain in America to reflect its association with ... get this... pagan creationism, and everybody's like "Hell, yeah! Stick it to the white man who despoiled the continent!"

We could go one of two ways with this: We could do a petition pointing out turnabout's fair play and demand Whitefish Mountain be renamed Mount Jesus, or alternatively, we could redouble efforts to let the Prozi know about the religious figures on the Supreme Court frieze, let the Islamic State know one of those figures is Muhammad, and then take bets on who'll get to them first.

Me, I kind of like the old name, and I'm not feeling very good about Unalienable Rights-Free Zones anyway...
