Sometimes the reason for a delayed indictment is the prosecution making sure they have gathered enough evidence for an airtight case… but this pushes credulity.
Hell, he was a member in good standing of "the Gang with official state sanction". What did you expect? Did you think he would be treated like a mere mortal?
