The Prepared Samaritan

Court paperwork filed Tuesday said an armed good Samaritan stopped an attack on a runner on a popular trail near Rainey Street last week. [More]
Sure beats being an unarmed good Samaritan...

Austin, eh?

I can't help but wonder about the damsel in distress, apparently in Condition White and thinking a whistle would do the trick, specifically about what she thought of armed citizens the day before the attack...

Well If You're Not Doing Anything Wrong...

It looks like Obama did spy on Trump, just as he apparently did to me [More]
Naturally, the media is running interference for political spying enabled by the FISA court, and that's something deserving of a much, much closer look -- especially in regards to "Deep State" loyalties and the role of "establishment" Republicans in quietly enabling Democrats. And especially since John Roberts appointed the last two judges.

I wouldn't mind seeing similar tributes here to Mr. Colt, Mr. Browning...

Arresting looters is a form of white supremacy [More]
Then it stands to reason that using lethal force to defend yourself is a form of genocide.

Strange Days

"Big Luther's" got some 'splainin' to do. [More]

So does Numbers USA:

A few days ago they were hawking him as a "true reformer" with a "C+" for the year.

And as that link shows, so does Judge Moore.

Waving a Red Flag

Nat Turner, the leader of a violent Virginia slave uprising, will be honored on a new emancipation statue in Richmond [More]
Just what we need for improved race relations...

Any guesses what would happen to a memorial for his butchered victims?

Facebook Silences Rohingya Reports of Ethnic Cleansing [More]
I'll bet that'd stop if the activists changed their tactics to demanding refugee status and helping facilitate the ideological cleansing here.

Death Star

The head of Air Force Special Operations Command said the service plans to test an experimental type of laser destined for a gunship next year. [More]
I wrote about similar efforts back at the turn of the century for Guns and Ammo in "Things to Come" (no longer online), so what we're hearing about in the media is a tactical release that in no way reflects how advanced things really are -- or perhaps are not.

Noting that when I was a kid it took a roomful of computers to do calculations, and how things have scaled down to practically infinitely more compact packages that can do practically infinitely more, can hand phasers be that far away? And any guesses on whether they'll be available to We the People?

Ideal Laboratory Conditions

Rescue teams take to Puerto Rico streets in darkness amid warnings that power could be out for months following devastating hit from Hurricane Maria [More]
It was nice while it lasted.

Now maybe we'll see a real-world experimental model to show the effects of "may (not) issue" and an EMP attack.

Media Continues Perpetuating VPC Machine Gun Deception

In a way, gun owner rights advocates should take heart from this, as it further demonstrates that the monopoly of violence lobby wants our guns so badly it’s willing to resort to such contemptible tactics to swindle them away. That gives us an opportunity – if we’ll only take it – to correct the record to those who have not pursued the issue beyond what they take in from the “mainstream media.” [More]
All they have are lies.

The Company They Keep

Now imagine if this were instead Donald Trump with an arrested violent "white nationalist."

And imagine the "outrage" from "the left" if he did not immediately own up to it. Tell me it wouldn't be turned into headlines.

Hmmm...

UPDATE: Henry raises a good question in comments, and looking a bit deeper we find an answer to what the Berkeley PD considers a "banned weapon":
The large sign carried by Sarah Roark is about 5 feet by 3 and a half feet wide and made of cardboard and paper.
Ridiculous, meaning "progressive."

I still maintain the enemy camp would have made great hay over this had this involved an alt-rightie and Trump.

Oh, him.

The great egalitarian. Funny how the vaunted principles always seem to take a back seat to personal privilege.

If I'd gone on a foul-mouthed tirade in front of employees on any job I've ever held, I'd have been justifiably canned. I never put up with abusive language, either.

As I told feral sons Uday and Qusay when they embarked on their careers, no job is worth your dignity.  Speak your mind when appropriate. Don't brown-nose. Tolerate no bullying.

The worst they can do to you is fire you. On a scale of 1 to 10 compared to a real life challenge, that barely registers.
